Programs
The two communities living in Cheț and Finiș from Bihor County have increased access to integrated social services addressed to families. We work with children, young people, parents and grandparents and support them to become a more developed, more prosperous, more united community.
The innovative approach we bring throughout the implementation of our activities consists primarily in the development and implementation of a long-term intervention model, namely the model of restorative practices.
Afterschool services
Activities for children from primary school who attended school in the morning are held daily in the afternoon, comprising the repetition of the concepts taught in school, support for doing homework adapted to the needs and pace of each child, counseling, learning life skills. Play with the aim of relaxing, disconnecting from routine and reconnecting with others is not missing either. Children in Cheț are divided in competence centers.
Secondary school pupils (often times the siblings of the younger) are also engaged in various specific activities to motivate them to continue school.
The relationship with parents, grandparents, families is continuously built and preserved, the needs and opinions of the families are heard, and they are encouraged to support the children's education on the long term.
Employment services
Services include information and professional counseling of jobseekers, skill assessment acquired both in the informal and non-formal system, and also visits to factories / companies / job fairs.
Socio-medical services
Socio-medical services are provided to the beneficiaries’ family members, as a poor health of one of the members can affect the whole family. They have access to information about their health state, prevention and some indicators of their health (blood pressure, blood sugar, etc.) are regularly monitored. The purpose of prevention is the integration and good participation of adults and children within the community and in education (hygiene, prevention and treatment of contagious diseases, etc.), but also the reduction of risks and the prevention of diseases associated with the patterns of mortality and morbidity prevalent in socio-economically disadvantaged communities.
